In recognition of the innovative and creative public spaces across our cities, towns and communities, the International Cities, Town Centres and Communities (ICTC) Society are pleased to host Placemaking Week Australia in Townsville from the 23 – 27 October 2019.
Placemaking Week Australia is about showcasing great public spaces, building conversations, highlighting community driven placemaking and best practice placemaking initiatives.
Placemaking is essential in transforming spaces in our cities and towns to encourage community engagement and interactions, while fostering healthier, socially and economically sustainable places.
The ICTC Society is pleased to work in conjunction with Townsville City Council as the host city for a number of Placemaking Week activities. As the largest city in Northern Australia, Townsville is on the cusp of transformation, from the big-ticket items such as the construction of the North Queensland Stadium and Waterfront Priority Development Area, to creating economic stimulus through innovative placemaking projects and developments.
